In the Otašević family household, food is prepared in a traditional way, using ingredients that mostly come from their own production or the local environment. During the summer, the family grows vegetables, corn, and fruit, while homemade juices, jams, preserves, and winter stores are prepared from seasonal fruits.
A special place is reserved for traditional dishes characteristic of the mountainous regions of northern Montenegro, prepared according to recipes passed down through generations. Guests can try homemade bread, traditional cooked meals, forest fruit products, natural juices, and homemade brandy (rakija) prepared at the katun.
In accordance with the season and guests’ wishes, the hosts can prepare vegetarian and other customized meals, with a special focus on homemade, fresh, and natural ingredients.
Rural Activities
Guests of the household can participate in various rural and seasonal activities that provide an authentic experience of life at the katun. Depending on the time of year, it is possible to take part in picking blueberries and medicinal herbs, mowing hay, preparing winter stores, making juices, jams, and homemade brandy, as well as in daily household chores.
In addition to household-related activities, guests have access to hiking, cycling, horse riding, camping, and organized excursions through the nature of Mokra mountain.

The Otašević family from Plav has been nurturing a traditional way of mountain life on Mokra for generations. During the summer, Veselin and Nataša, together with their daughters Jelena, Jovana, and Nevena, stay at Vule’s katun, where they preserve the customs, lifestyle, and values characteristic of katun households in northern Montenegro.
Their daily life is connected to nature, livestock farming, agriculture, and the production of homemade food. At the katun, the family grows vegetables, corn, and fruit, prepares homemade juices, jams, winter stores, and traditional brandy, while numerous recipes and skills are passed from generation to generation. During the summer months, they are engaged in mowing hay, picking blueberries and medicinal herbs, maintaining the katun, and preparing products for the winter.
They welcome guests as friends, with the desire to bring them closer to the authentic mountain life, local cuisine, and the peace provided by a stay in untouched nature.

The Otašević family household is located at Vule’s katun, on Mokra mountain, in an environment of untouched nature, vast pastures, and dense Bosnian pine forests. At an altitude of 1,870 meters, this area is characterized by clean mountain air, numerous water springs, and the peace offered by an authentic katun landscape.
The surroundings are suitable for lovers of active holidays, hiking, cycling, and spending time in nature, but also for those who want to experience a slower pace of life far from the city crowds. During the summer, the mountain areas of Mokra are rich in medicinal herbs, forest fruits, and diverse landscapes that change their appearance through the seasons.
In the vicinity of the household, there are numerous natural and cultural-historical sites, including Stoja’s Cave, the remains of old towers on Vaganica and Kukarski Vrh, katun cemeteries, the historical site at the Ćafa pass, as well as the Church of Saints Peter and Paul.
