Food
Guests are traditionally welcomed with a glassof Podgorski balm brandy. The special feature of this household is its abundant food offer, made on the household and the special treats are greenery and nettle broths. Guests can have only the food prepared for the hosts, too. A guest should only inform us if vegan or vegetarian food is needed or ifhe/she is allergic to some ingredients.

Kaljević family lives in the hamlet called Podgora, on Durmitor. The household is made of a granddad SpasojePajo, his wife Stanimirka Cana, their sons Tomo and Lazar and grandchildren Irena, Mara, Teodora and Danka. They are traditionally into agriculture, they keep cattle and plant a garden and collect medicinal herbs. The works are managed by Spasoje but the jobs are divided among the family and they find it interesting.
Primary activity of Kaljević family is agriculture. They are into husbandry – they keep cattle and pigs, and so they work with dairy products – clotted cream and cheese, and they dry pork meat. Besides husbandry, they plant a garden and they grow everything allowed by the harsh Durmitor climate, such as beetroot, carrot, cabbage, potato, onion, greenery, spinach, barley and so on. Cana is a true expert in making jams, preserve, juices, teas made of herbs collected from the clean Durmitor region, she knits woolen socks, hats and scarves. Granddad Spasoje is particularly proud of his plum brandy – Podgorski balm. Guests are always welcome to visit Durmitor, with Kljajević family, especially during summer months when there are a large number of activities happening at the farm and surrounding area.
Kljajević household is situated in the hamlet Podgora, 7 km away from Žabljak. The household is overlooking Durmitor and its peaks Savin and BobotovKuk, Medjed and CrvenaGreda. It is 7 km away from the National Park Durmitor, 2 km away from the viewpoint on the river Tara, Petar’s viewpoint, 6 km away from the Durmitor Ring and, finally, 7 km away from the hiking trails CT1 and Via Dinarica.
