Dejan Šekularac lives in the village called Lužac, situated 2 kilometers away from Berane. He has recently decided to start working in the village tourism and has renovated his family house and offered it to the guests coming from all over the globe. Dejan is an immensely diligent person, and, besides working in a Home for students in Berane, spends his free time on his farm in Kurikuće, working in agriculture. He has got large raspberry, plums, apples and pear fields, planted for the household needs, as well as apiary situated close to the family house.  His sisters help him a lot, they spend a lot of time in the village and work with him, especially with the guests, when food needs to be prepared. His son is also of great assistance. His stone house, built more than 70 years ago, will take your breath away.

Dejan Šekularac has got a garden where he grows vegetables for his family and guests. They produce jams, juices and one inevitable drink from this area, the plum brandy, from the fruit from his orchard. If you visit this household at the right time, you can take part in these activities.

A village household “Rijeke (Rivers)”, situated in the village Kurikuće is located 10 kilometers away from Berane. It is situated within a valley where two rivers pass through, and our household is right next to the river Suvodo, that is how we had the idea for the name of the household. There are three caves in the village itself, you can visit them whenever you wish. Village Kurikuće is situated in the proximity of the National Park Biogradska Gora and the mountain Bjelasica and is ideal place for tourist’s visits, tourists who wish to experience village life and take a stroll across our beautiful Bjelasica and visit its peaks and glacier lakes. Two hours away from Kurikuće, you can find these lakes, Large and Small Šiško lake, Ševarinsko lake, Ursilovačko and Pešića lake. A bit further away is Biogradsko lake.

Šekularac family lives in the village Kurikuće. The household is made of Živko and Milka. They’ve got a son and two daughters. Živko is a retired teacher, he had been a primary school principal for a long time. Milka is a retired accountant. Their family tradition is beekeeping. At the moment, there are around thirty hives in the household.

Šekularac family is involved in many activities within their household. One of them is beekeeping. They have got an orchard where they grow numerous types of apples, plums, pears, cherries, sour cherries and others. They use these for making jams, juices and so on. They have also got a garden where they try to grow organic vegetables and then they make pepper spread or different types of salads from it.

Šekularac household is situated close to Berane, at the foothill of the mountain Bjelasica. There is an asphalt road leading to the household. This area is abundant in beautiful scenery, some of them are the glacier lakes – Šiško lake and Ursulovačko lake and they attract a lot of tourists during summer. There is also a macadam road next to the household leading to the peaks of Bjelasica. Tourists can swim in the lake, ride a horse and pick blueberries.

Merdović family lives in the suburb neighborhood called Lužac, municipality of Berane. Milisav, his wife Nada and their three sons, Zoran, Ljubo and Ivan, traditionally go to the village Kurikuće, situated below Bjelasica, at the very entrance of the national park Biogradska Gora. Their family tradition is working in agriculture and husbandry and Milisav has continued the tradition of his ancestors.

Basic activities of Merdović family are agriculture and husbandry. They own a garden where they grow vegetables, for themselves and for their guests. They have also got an orchard in Lužac and they produce homemade juices, jams and brandy, too. Besides picking fruit from their orchard, the family also picks mushrooms, forest fruit and they use them in jam, juices and preserve production. Whenever you decide to visit Merdović family, you can take part in certain activities at the farm and gain an unforgettable experience.

Merdović household is situated in the village Kurikuće, within an inch of the National park Biogradska Gora and the mountain Bjelasica, famous for its natural beauty, especially for its glacier lakes. There are two rivers passing through Kurikuće, and you can also visit three caves situated close to the household. If you are interested in visiting the lakes gracing  Bjelasica, Pešića lake, Ursulovačko lake, Large and Small Šiško lake, Ševarinsko, and the largest one, Biogradsko lake, you will only have to walk for a couple of hours from the household. The family of Luka Merdović lives in the village called Lužac, a couple of kilometers away from Berane. They spend the summer months in their home village Kurikuće, situated below the mountain Bjelasica. Luka, his wife and son, Vojo, spend a larger portion of the year in the village, while his other children and grandchildren come during the summer to help in agriculture activities.

Merdović family is into various production activities. They have a garden where they grow vegetables, for the family and their guests. They also keep bees in the village. Beside these they are into collecting forest fruit and mushrooms. If you visit at the right period, they will reveal the secrets of true pickers.

Merdović household is located in the village Kurikuće, within easy reach of the national park Biogradska Gora and the mountain Bjelasica, which is recognized for its natural beauty, especially for its glacier lakes.

Merdović family lives in the village called Dolac, not far away from Berane. During the summer months, they spend their time in the village Kurikuće, some fifteen kilometers away from Berane and which is situated at the very entrance to the Biogradska Gora National Park. This six-member family is made of four sons, Savo, Stefan and twins Miloš and Miljan and their parents Mirko and Milena.

Mirko works as a police officer and Milena is a housewife and they spend their free time in the village, doing agricultural works.

The basic activity of this family is agriculture. They have a garden where they grow vegetables, for them and for their guests. They have also got an orchard and use its fruit for making juices and jams. If you come at the right time, you can also take part in these activities.

Merdovićs also collect tea herbs, mushrooms, pick blueberries and raspberries and use them for making juices and jams, which you can try out in this household.

During the winter, they keep pigs and you can try the homemade dry-cured ham here.

Merdović household is situated at the very entrance to the Biogradska Gora National Park. Rivers Nevaštica and Suvodo run in its proximity. There are also three caves worth visiting, some 500 meters away from the household.

Some hour and a half walk from the household, a large number of glacial lakes can be found, Ursulovačko, Pešića Lake, Large Šiško lake, Small Šiško and finally, Ševarine lake, which is ideal for bird watching. The largest lake on the mountain Bjelasica, Biogradsko lake, is three and a half hours walk from the household, but it is really worth visiting.

A large number of local biking and mountain trails passes next to the Merdović household, then the national biking trail TT3 and hiking and biking trail Via Dinarica, as well.

Šekularac family moves to Suvodo katun in May and stays there till October. They have carried on the tradition of their ancestors.

The family is made up of 7 members. Their tradition is husbandry and beekeeping, and it still goes on, with new generations.

Šekularac household is situated at the very border of the National Park Biogradska Gora. Thus, their household is in its proximity. A marked bicycle trail passes by their farm. There are three glacial lakes close to it, Šiško, Ursulovačko and Pešića Lake. They are only one to two hours away on foot. Also, the highest Bjelasica peak (2,139 m), Crna Glava, is close by.
