The Bojić family lives in the village of Plan, No. 5, and during the summer, they stay at the Potrk katun on Sinjajevina mountain. Three generations live in the household – grandmother Krstina, her daughter Sanja and son-in-law Ranko, and their three children: Nemanja, who is a primary school teacher, Aleksandar, a hospitality professional, and daughter Anđela, a pharmacist. The children stay with their parents and always help with the tasks in the rural household. They live in the countryside and are engaged in agriculture and livestock farming. Guests are always welcome and can get to know the rural way of life.

The primary activity of the Bojić family is livestock and agriculture. They raise about 20 cows, 30 chickens, and 5 pigs. They produce the widely known and branded Kolašin layered cheese (lisnati sir), kajmak, eggs, meat, and various homemade foods.

They own fields and an orchard where they grow onions, carrots, parsley, leeks, beets, raštan (collard greens), chard, cabbage, potatoes, beans, green beans, corn, peas, tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers. From the fruits, they have apples, pears, and plums, as well as strawberries and raspberries, which they use to make homemade juices, jams, and brandy.

They also produce honey, brandies with medicinal herbs, as well as teas picked on the mountain.

Gorica and Rajko stay at the Pešića Rupa katun during the summer. They are engaged in livestock farming, and their daily life is tied to caring for animals and maintaining the katun. Their children join them every summer and help with chores at the katun, especially during the mowing season.

Rajko is particularly recognized for playing the flute, so staying with them often gains a special, almost forgotten atmosphere – the sounds of the flute spreading across the mountain are a true shepherd’s experience.

Gorica is a dedicated hostess who takes care of the household and food preparation, so guests have the opportunity to experience the family warmth and the way of life that has been nurtured here for generations.

The Pešić family bases their daily life at the katun primarily on livestock farming, which is the foundation of their way of life. They raise sheep and cows, so the production of milk and dairy products is at the center of their offer.

From fresh milk, they prepare homemade cheese, kajmak, and jardum, according to recipes passed down in the family for generations. Jardum is a specialty of katun cuisine. It is obtained from sheep’s milk, usually in August. If you are not used to strong food, be careful with jardum; consume small amounts. The cuisine relies on simple but high-quality ingredients, so along with dairy products, potato dishes, homemade bread, and other traditional mountain meals are often on the table.

Authentic, homemade food is thus available to guests, prepared from what is produced directly at the katun according to the season. The Pešić family has a garden in the village where they grow various types of vegetables, and they also have various types of fruit.

The Pešić household is located at the Pešića Rupa katun, in the area of the Biogradska Gora National Park on Bjelasica. The katun is situated near Pešića Lake, which can be reached by an easy 15-minute walk, making it particularly suitable for guests who want to combine a stay at the katun, homemade food, and a visit to one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in this region.

The surroundings consist of vast pastures, forest areas, and mountain viewpoints offering views towards the peaks of Bjelasica. In the wider area are other glacial lakes of the National Park – Biogradsko, Ursulovačko, and Šiška lakes, while among the famous peaks and viewpoints are Crna Glava, Zekova Glava, and Troglava. The National Park is known for its primeval forest reserve, lakes, and rich mountain landscape.

This area is suitable for walking, hiking, cycling, and easy strolls, and marked trails connecting the most attractive locations pass through the National Park. Pešića Rupa katun is a good choice for a longer stay in nature but also for a short break after a tour – lunch, tasting of traditional dishes, and rest in the katun atmosphere.

During the summer months, the Dubak family moves with their livestock to the Šiška katun, located within the Biogradska Gora National Park. Đorđije and Slavica stay at the katun then, dedicated to daily duties, while their sons and daughter with their families often join them, using every free moment to help and be part of that life.

Livestock farming and beekeeping are deeply rooted in the family tradition, which is passed down to younger generations with love and dedication.

The Dubak family is engaged in various branches of agriculture, nurturing a blend of tradition and homemade production. Their farm includes livestock farming, beekeeping, vegetable growing, and fruit growing, ensuring a diverse and high-quality offer.

On the rural estate, they have an orchard from which homemade brandies, juices, and jams are produced, prepared according to traditional recipes. In the garden, they grow various types of vegetables – potatoes, onions, carrots, zucchini, green beans, beans, cucumbers, peppers, and cabbage, from which they also make various types of salads.

A special segment of their production is beekeeping, while dairy products and meat are provided through livestock farming. Guests always have access to a rich offer of homemade, freshly prepared products that reflect the authentic taste of this region.

The Dubak household is located in the Šiška katun, in the heart of the Biogradska Gora National Park, in an authentic mountain setting that offers peace, beautiful natural landscapes, and numerous opportunities for exploring the surroundings.

In the immediate vicinity are Veliko and Malo Šiško Lake, as well as Ševarinsko Lake, ideal for easy walks and enjoying nature. Hiking enthusiasts can head to Ursulovačko Lake, about a two-hour walk away, as well as Biogradsko Lake, one of the most beautiful glacial lakes in the region, reached by a trail of about three hours.

Hiking and tourist routes pass through this area, such as the katun road “Untold Bjelasica,” national hiking and cycling trails, which connect the most beautiful mountain areas of the region and offer exceptional opportunities for active holidays and multi-day tours. Additionally, a network of local trails leads to mountain peaks (Crna Glava, Zekova Glava) and viewpoints offering impressive views of the surrounding landscapes.

The household is located within one of the last European primeval forests, for which Biogradska Gora is widely known.

The Grujičić family lives in the village of Dubočica, they have 6 members. The host Mikailo and his wife Verica live there with their daughter Marijana, son Miloš and daughter-in-law Milica, and with their newborn granddaughter. As a family, they all work in agriculture, as their main branch of occupation. They are traditionally engaged in agriculture, so they are in the countryside throughout the year.

The main activity of the Grujičić family is agriculture, they own cows. They have also got their own orchard, and from the yield they prepare jams and juices for their needs, they also make brandy. In addition to the orchards, they also have their own garden, where various types of vegetables are planted, which are typical for this area. During the summer months, you can participate in most of these activities, depending on the month and current rural activities.

Pljevlja, which is some 15 km from the village of Dubočica, is the town with many religious buildings, such as the monastery of St. Trojice and Ali Pasha’s Mosque.

Near the household, there is also a viewpoint overlooking the meanders of Ćehotina, which is some 200m away from the house. From the village, you can also take a walk to the lake Otilovići, the walk takes about 1 hour. You can swim in the lake, but also ride a boat.

There are many marked biking trails, as well as some easy hiking trails in the vicinity of the household.

The numerous Dragić family lives in harmony in the village of Gornja Bijela, together with their sons and grandchildren. All three of their sons are police officers, which makes their grandparents very proud. Grandma and grandpa are in the village during the winter, but when the summer comes, they go up to the katun with the cattle. The younger ones stay to take care of the house in the village, and their grandson Vuk and granddaughter Masha take their role seriously and spend almost all their time in the village and help with various household chores.

Family is primarily engaged in agriculture; their main income comes from it. They have a flock of sheep, goats, and cows, which spend the summer months on the katun. In the village, they have a garden where they grow various vegetables, such as potatoes, onions, parsley. An orchard is situated next to the house, many plum trees, apples and pears are planted there, and the fruit is used to make various jams, preserves, as well as the brandy, served only in the household. Also, one of the specialties of this household is the walnut tree, whose fruit is used for making treats.

The village of Gornja Bijela is located near the motorway leading from Nikšić to Žabljak, which connects the central and northern part of Montenegro.

The Monastery of St. Georgije gives the special charm of the village, it is about 1,000 years old, and it was built by Prince Vladimir Dukljanski.

The river Bijela’s waterfall called Crnjak is set close to the household, and during the spring (when the snow melts) and during rainy summer days it enchants the visitors. And on hot, summer days, the natural pool on the river is used by the locals, they swim and try to cool down a bit. Also, one of the natural attractions is the source of the river Bijela, which is located 300m from the house. For true adrenaline junkies, there is a possibility to go through the river canyon, which has become increasingly popular in recent period.

At about 10 km from the village, a wind farm was built, which is a real sensation with its windmills.

Also, organization of field trips, such as circular jeep tours, sport fishing on the river, and so on are included in the household’s offer. Several biking and walking trails can be found very close to the village.

The Džabasan family lives in the village of Tepca, at the foot of the Ćurevac peak. Three generations live in this family, brothers Miroje, Radoje and Rade with their mother Dunja. Radoje’s family is also with them, a wife and two children. The brothers share the jobs in the household, Miroje is primarily engaged in beekeeping and growing vegetables in the greenhouse, while Rade is more engaged in husbandry and fruit growing. And Radoje is oriented more to the town, where he is engaged in private business.

The Dzabasan family is engaged in agriculture. They have beehives, and they sell honey on their doorstep, mostly to tourists. As part of their property, there is also an orchard, with plums, walnuts, and cherries, from which they prepare various delicacies. Also, the family grow vegetables in the garden and in the greenhouse. They are also engaged in cattle breeding, and they mostly use dairy products for the needs of their family. Depending on the month of your visit, you will be able to participate in one of the activities that the brothers are currently engaged in.

The Džabasan family lives in the village of Tepca, in the canyon of the Tara River. The village is a well-known Durmitor village for several reasons, one of is because it is the only parish village where almost all kinds of vegetables and fruits thrive. Secondly, because there is a raft in the village, so it is possible to organize rafting from households.

Some of the hiking trails start from this small village, such as the trails to the village of Mala Crna Gora, as well as to the Ćurevac viewpoint. From the top of Ćurevac canyon of the river Tara is 1,333 m deep.

Also, jeep tours to the village from Žabljak are often organized to see village and river.

Two generations live in the Vukićević family, brother and sister, Dragan, and Jovanka. Dragan’s son Mihailo and Jovanka’s son Nemanja are with them. The boys work and provide services in tourism, so they organize various types of active holidays, as wished by the guests. The family is in the village Krš during the summer months, while in the winter they move to Njegovuđa, because it is closer to the city and the roads are navigable during the months when the snow is heavy.

The Vukićević family is engaged in agriculture, they have cows, Jovanka is in charge of them. Milk is used to make newborn and aged cheese, which she sells in the town. The brother’s duty is to maintain the farm during the summer months and prepare food for the cows for the winter. Next to the house there is a garden, where, due to the high altitude, mostly potatoes and some smaller greens can be grown.

Village Krš is located near the canyon of the river Tara. So, there is a number of hiking and mountaineering trails leading to many viewpoints to the canyon. Two of the eighteen Durmitor lakes, Zabojsko and Zminičko lakes are situated close to the village.

A mountaineering trasversal, Via Dinarica, crossed by many mountaineers, is located in the immediate vicinity of the village. The surroundings of the village is ideal for cycling tours.

A small church has been built in the heart of the village.

Due to its position, the village is close to the bridge on Đurđevića Tara, so rafting on the river can be organized.
